Well, how do i start…great place, great music, great vinyls and of course, great friends. This place reminds me when I was young, I used to hang out in a little shop @ Peace Centre where I spent time just browsing LP albums and singles, Retrophonic Records brought me my best memories back and I just wanna say a big thank you for that and of course not forgetting your hospitality whenever I’m there. Always looking forward to drop by for a listen or two and you’ll always have my support. Cheers Retrophonic!!!

When I first came to store, its like cosy as like how we enter into our own home. They offer affordable prices for vinyl players, speakers, accessories and records. Not to forget that, they do back to back order each month and I’m amazed with the variety of genre they listed in it. Being a ska, reggae, oi! Music lover, its quite hard to find a record shop that sell those or offer orders in this Lion City(Singapore). The owner of Retrophonic Records never fail to have a good conversation and service was superb too. Be it local and the rest of the world, I will recommend you to visit this store as it will never let you down.

Retrophonic is hidden in one of the unlikeliest of buildings – its neighbours include travel agencies and a (pretty decent) bakery.

If you’re lucky enough to find it and step in though, you’ll be welcome by friendly owner HK who will be happy to stop and chat about music, records and audio setups. A very friendly and approachable person, you won’t feel intimidated or afraid to ask him anything and everything.

Retrophonic also happens to have a great e-tailing site, testament to HK’s other job in IT. You’ll still have to pick the items up from the physical shop, which is just fine because it’s a nice place to hang out for a while when you have the time anyway!

This is the store where I bought my first Turn Table and vinyl record. The owner and his assistant are very accomodating. They even let us try different turn table and vinyl so that it will help us decide what to buy.

The first time I set foot into the shop, it just feels comfortable. Not just because its a cozy little place, the people running it are sincerely friendly. Its a sanctuary in a hetic city. Cheers…

When I first went to Retrophonics, I was a bit hesitant because I thought that it would be just another person trying to sell me a record player system at an exuberant price. Oh boy, was I wrong there. Mr Loo was very welcoming and was so informative about everything. From how turntables work to what you should invest in based on your budget, your pair of ears and desire to listen to that needle on vinyl, magically producing music. If you asked me to recommend you a record store, there would be no other place I would recommend than Retrophonics. Mr Loo will make sure you feel like home. You can bring down your own records to play and enjoy as well. You might meet other people that dig your music as well. I would say I was very lucky that a friend of mine recommended me this place, I saved a hell of a lot of money and for something I know I would enjoy for many years down the road.

For vinyl beginners, this is a great place to check out good quality turntables, phono amp, cartridge, speakers at budget price!! or everything you need to get started!! Need not worry if you have little knowledge on vinyl records or turntables, the ever helpful owner – HK is glad to share the info with you. I never fail to learn a thing or two about vinyl whenever i visit the shop! The shop also carries vinyl wall clocks and Crosley retro turntables that are pretty delightful to have (^o^)

Probably one of the best music stores in Singapore. Excellent selection of gear and music.
